The Thumbprint Cellars Lounge opened in downtown Healdsburg in October 2004, and has been a great promotional tool for Scott Lindstrom-Drake’s wines. Also, the work of local artists is exhibited there which adds real character to the venue.
Scott has developed a unique wine style that consists of a focus on food-friendliness, as well as on ripe flavors combined with fresh acidity. He has a light hand when using new oak, particularly with Pinot Noir, and always looks for the right balance between the different elements of the wine.
I enjoy this style of winemaking tremendously, and consider it to be the best way to balance the natural richness and higher alcohol content of Californian wines. |
Wines Offered: The best wines are definitely the Bordeaux varietals, with a good Cabernet Sauvignon, and an interesting Cabernet Franc.
Marc's selection:
- Three Some, Alexander Valley: Medium dark ruby hue with a narrow purple rim. The nose shows intense aromas of blueberry, herbs, and cinnamon.
The palate is full bodied and is associated with a good acidity.
