Greenwood Ridge Winery is one of the pioneers of the Anderson Valley. The winery was established in 1980, and since then has been producing a selection of interesting varietals grown at high altitudes. These vineyards, planted at 1400 feet, are above the fog and frost, which help the grapes to reach full maturity.
     Greenwood Ridge is home to one of the most entertaining events in northern California. The California Wine Tasting Championship is a two-day event, where both professionals and amateurs compete during series of blind tastings to discover hidden varietals.
     Even if the quality of their wines has not always been steady, you can always find some real gems at the tasting room, such as their Pinot Noir.

•    Pinot Noir: Certainly the best wine of the current selection, which confirms the quality of Anderson Valley pinots. This wine shows elegant red berries on the nose, with a soft, delicate palate. Great with food.
